Description
Under an IDIQ Task Order Contract, TMG performed Design/Build and Construction services at secure locations in the Washington, DC, area. As part of this Task Order Contract, TMG’s team performed the design-build renovation of a Small Arms Firing Range (SAFR), including a new weapons firing range bullet collection system, targeting system and controls, and site improvements. Specific work included:
- Demolition and disposal of existing wood structure and target systems, including minor soil remediation;
- Construction of an engineered concrete slab to support the new bullet trap system;
- Re-grading of surrounding area to promote positive surface drainage away from activity areas and to promote re-establishment of areas previously impacted by erosion;
- Select renovation of Five-Yard Firing Point Shed;
- Provision and installation of “Action Target” Bullet Trap System including conduit for power, data, and low-voltage distribution;
- Construction of an overhead support structure covered by a rib crimp/standing seam metal roofing system;
- Provision and installation of an “Action Target” pneumatically powered targeting system, including a weather-protected controls podium, SmartRange computer control system, and associated cable distribution system;
- Installation of gutters, downspouts and splash-blocks on the Firing Point Sheds;
- Lead recovery and soil stabilization to meet EPA, Federal, State and local codes and regulations; and,
- Restoration of the immediate area and existing firing berm, including ground cover and erosion control.
