Public Conference Room and Director’s Meeting Room Renovations
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
Task Order Contract
Working under a Task Order Contract, TMG was awarded the transformation of space adjacent to the main lobby on the first floor within the historic Terminal A building. Work began with demolition of existing space, patching existing floor and ceiling openings, grinding smooth the existing concrete deck above in order to create an exposed concrete-finish surface for the new ceiling, and the installation of new glass entrance doors; and then continued with partitioning the space to create the main conference area, a kitchenette, and several storage areas. Trades included electrical, plumbing, HVAC, telecom, security and fire protection. The 2,015 SF space is capable of accommodating 290 people, and is partitionable by means of 8’ x 16’ wooden folding doors. A total of nine new steam radiators were installed, along with a remotely monitored HVAC system and a new fire-suppressant sprinkler system – the first installed in a public space within the historic portion of the terminal.
In addition to motorized double window shades and an audio/visual system, wall coverings, stained millwork, paint, kitchen cabinetry, clear-coat finish on the existing concrete ceiling, carpet and tile complete the interior finishes. Furnishings include custom conference tables fully wired for data, phone and power, and include strip lighting and tabletop microphones, complemented by a ceiling-mounted speaker system and two 70” interactive monitors at either end of the conference space.
