TMG successfully completed the design and construction of the Walter Reed Covered Walkways and Transportation Center.

The project provides wounded soldiers and their family members with a safe and less-encumbered route of travel between their Recovery Residences (Building 61 & 62) and the hospital’s various clinics, including the pharmacy and physical therapy center. The Covered Walkways provide shelter during rain and shade during daytime walks between the connecting buildings. In the evenings, the pathways are illuminated via new energy efficient LED bollard lighting. The Transportation Center is located adjacent to Building 62 and provides conditioned shelter for patients and caretakers utilizing the shuttle service.

This project was completed as a design-build task order under a Multiple Award Construction Contract with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) for the Washington District. Under this contract, TMG was awarded 32 task orders totaling over $18.7 million in construction.
