As the mentor in a mentor-protégé joint venture, TMG provided design and construction services for a large parking lot and stormwater renovation project on a secure federal campus.

The design-build project removed 25,425 SY (5.2 AC) of asphalt paving, installed stormwater treatment features, tree islands, a new lighting system, electric charging stations, and regraded and repaved with asphalt paving.

The stormwater treatment consisted of eight new cast-in-place concrete walled bio-retention ponds within the footprint of the existing parking lot, and one large bio-retention pond on the southern end of the parking lot.  Sixteen new tree islands were installed to soften the hardscape and reduce the heat absorption of the parking lot.  In addition, new site lighting with LED fixtures and a lighting control system were installed to reduce energy consumption as well as reduce light pollution by a detailed light study and efficient layout.  To promote the use of energy efficient cars, the government also installed the infrastructure to be able to charge eight electric cars.

An active shooter security system was added through modification which included secure fiber, poles, cameras, and monitors to ensure coverage of the entire parking lot as well as the main entrance to the adjacent building.
