Description
TMG replaced approximately 1,800 LF of concrete taxiway at Joint Base Andrews. The scope involved environmental testing, erosion and sediment controls, and the removal and replacement of the existing taxiway, 3,500 LF of underdrain, and utilities. The project team also installed a new 400 LF trench drain and stormwater retention facility, followed by subgrading 11,000 cubic yards of concrete and repaving the shoulders of the taxiway. All taxiway lighting was replaced, which involved the installation of new ductbank, new conduit, light cans, new conductors, and fixtures.
Because the scope called for a specialty flexible concrete, TMG erected a batch concrete plant and testing laboratory onsite to ensure compliant concrete mixes.
