TMG Construction completed a 200-square-foot renovation of an existing laboratory space at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, VA. The project was undertaken to accommodate the installation of new lab analyzer equipment provided by Abbott Laboratories. The scope of work included minor HVAC, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, as well as the installation of new VCT flooring and freshly painted walls to enhance the functionality and appearance of the lab.
Given the hospital environment, TMG implemented stringent infection control measures, including the installation of temporary partitions and negative air machines to prevent the spread of contaminants into adjacent sterile areas. All infection control plans were reviewed and approved by the Valley Health Infection Control Officer prior to implementation. Despite minor plan revisions and field directives, TMG and its subcontractors completed the renovation efficiently and to the client’s satisfaction.
