TMG completed a large stabilization project for a severely eroded stormwater outfall at Confluence Park in Leesburg, VA.

The scope of work involved the installation of a new manhole, stormwater piping, plunge pool, and an armored step-pool channel system designed to safely transfer flows and reduce erosion. The project also included meticulous sediment control and erosion measures, access coordination, and site protection throughout each construction phase due to the improvements being located within a sensitive floodplain and riparian area.

Permanent stabilization was achieved through both structural improvements and landscape restoration to support long-term durability of the outfall area. Temporary bypass and turbidity control measures were also put into place along with grading and channel reconstruction, stone installation, and restoration of disrupted areas.

TMG approached this project with a methodical, safety-first mindset by recognizing environmental sensitivity and impact of the project. Beyond the physical improvements, the team focused on sustainability and long-term functionality, emphasizing TMG’s dedication to every project we do.
