TMG’s very own Mohamed helped lead and coordinate TMG donations for food, clothing and supplies to be sent to survivors of the Turkey and Syria earthquake in February 2023.
On February 6, 2023, a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria. The earthquake and aftershocks have left tens of thousands injured, hundred of thousands displaced, and over 47,000 dead.
The Committee for Dulles (CFD) was in the process of planning their annual open house & food drive at the time, and realigned their drive to collect items that were desperately needed to help provide relief to the survivors of the quake. Items requested included blankets and sleeping bags, tents, medications, winter clothing, and food and water.
Mohamed saw the CFD’s call for action and coordinated with the various TMG offices to set up donation boxes. Mohamed then collected all of the donations and delivered them to the CFD office, where they were then flown to the survivors.
