TMG Construction made good on its pledge to deliver a new modular office building on the site of the Purcellville Water Treatment Plant in time for employees to celebrate the holiday season. The TMG crew completed the project more than a week ahead of schedule and within budget.
Hired as the general contractor by the Town of Purcellville in Virginia, TMG worked with design firm Dewberry of Fairfax and modular building manufacturer Williams Scotsman to construct new office space, a meeting room and a break room for plant employees. The contract also called for related site work, installation and hook-up of plumbing and electrical service, and construction of final touches including a deck and a walkway.
One of TMG’s responsibilities was to keep the existing water treatment plant in operation at all times. TMG convened a dynamic team of local subcontractors to fulfill this project. Baltimore-based Williams Scotsman manufactured the modular structure offsite while site preparation occurred at the water treatment plant. Site construction was performed by Pro-Pave Inc. of Sterling with Purcellville-based Cook’s Plumbing spearheading the plumbing installations. E-Electric handled all the electrical work. All site work was completed before the building was delivered in November. The last few weeks of the project involved connecting the water and sewer hookups. The final touch included a deck and walkway.
After delivering a similar modular building for Loudoun County Public Schools on a tight schedule, TMG Project Manager Wes Ballinger noted that this project proceeded quite smoothly. "The main challenge was fitting this building into such a tight space. There’s very little parking area there to begin with, so we had to be creative." Indeed they were. After tediously nudging the building onto the foundation, the office/break room is now open for weary water treatment employees seeking respite from their work.
And, yes, the grounds are beautifully green and well landscaped.
