On December 4, 2007, TMG employees gathered at the National Air & Space Musuem’s Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles Airport to celebrate the company’s 15th anniversary in business. "With TMG’s focus on aviation-related construction, it’s only fitting that we celebrate at this inspiring museum," said TMG President Tanya Matthews.
In keeping with SBA’s certification of TMG as a Native Hawaiian-owned, woman-owned small 8(a) enterprise, Tanya Matthews greeted each guest with a fresh orchid lei, flown directly to the company’s main office from Hawaii. She also presented the first "Making a Difference at TMG" award to Project Manager Michelle Stuckey, who was voted by her TMG colleagues as the person who goes above and beyond the call of duty to make the company successful. Michelle received a kitschy engraved hula doll trophy.
In addition to a sumptuous spread catered by Washington, DC-based Occasions Caterers, TMG employees were treated to a personal video of experimental flights by General Joe Anderson, Associate Director of the Udvar-Hazy Center. General Jack Dailey, Director of the National Air and Space Museum, hosted the celebration in the Director’s Conference Room.
After watching a slide presentation celebrating TMG’s projects and employees, groups were dispatched on personally guided tours of the Center’s great flying machines. "It’s amazing what can happen when imagination and technical expertise take flight," said Joe Matthews, Vice President of Operations and Principal. "It’s what we strive for at TMG, and we’re grateful to our employees and clients for making this celebration possible."
