Building on its commitment to safety, TMG was recognized by the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority at a recent award ceremony for its stellar record at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
"Safety is the first priority for the Airports Authority’s Capital Construction Program," noted MWAA Manager of Construction Ken Vogel, who presented the safety award at TMG’s Dulles Airport office. "In addition to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our workforce, an injury-free work environment makes it possible to achieve all other goals, including security, quality and schedule."
Each quarter, MWAA recognizes contractors that have achieved an injury-free work environment and have demonstrated initiative in making safety a top priority. TMG was the winner in the Task Order Contractor category for the 4th Quarter 2006. This is the fourth safety award presented to TMG by MWAA - and for good reason. "TMG and its subcontractors have worked more than 27,569 manhours during this 4th quarter with zero accidents, resulting in a Recordable Incident Rate of zero and a Lost Time Incident Rate of zero for the quarter," reported Vogel. "Effective partnering between TMG, Parsons Management Consultants (PMC) and MWAA has made these accomplishments possible."
TMG President Tanya Matthews accepted the award for the company. "This award could not have been earned without the efforts of the excellent team we have in place at IAD, especially Safety Engineer Tim Brown, Project Superintendent Ken Matuszewski, Project Manager John Warren, Senior Construction Engineer Sandra Yokum and all our dedicated craftspeople and laborers," she said. "We continually emphasize safety first on the job and will continue to build on this success."
TMG Vice President of Operations Joe Matthew added that the safety award reinforces the top corporate value of "Safety Matters" and that ensuring a safe working environment has a highly positive impact on quality and customer satisfaction.
