TMG Reaches Substantial Completion on Lufthansa
January 12, 2009
Nancy Baker
TMG’s Dulles Airport Project Team presented the keys to Lufthansa’s two-story Senator & Business Lounges at Gates B-49 and B-51. VIP passengers have a direct taxiway to the luxury club, which features Lufthansa’s flair for the upscale travel experience.

The project demonstrates TMG’s depth and breadth of capability in areas of airline permitting, food service and high-end specialty building materials under a very tight deadline.

The Senator Lounge is located upstairs while first class passengers have access to the amenities on the first level. The two lounges are connected by an elegant open curved stairway with stainless steel and glass hand railing. TMG worked with Alexandria, VA-based Giuliani Associates Architects, Inc., on bringing Lufthansa’s sleek and modern design to life. The lounges are one of many projects that TMG has teamed with Giuliani Associates.

Other special features of the luxury lounges are high-end architectural finishes that include decorative metal ceilings throughout, gourmet food service facilities on two levels, an elevator, a dumb waiter, cutting-edge fire protection systems and other high-end amenities.

Lufthansa is the latest in a long line of lounge and other projects for airlines, including United Airlines, Delta Airlines, US Airways, All Nippon Airways and Saudi Airlines.
