Building Green at 4620 Wisconsin Ave., Washington, DC
March 18, 2005
Joe Matthews, TMG
TMG Construction successfully completed the renovation of 26,000 square feet on three floors of a six story building located at 4620 Wisconsin Avenue on March 11th to provide new office space for American University’s design and construction business unit. Guided by TMG’s mission, TMG worked with its business partner Capitol Building Supply and Armstrong Industries to remove and recycle 26,000 SF of ceiling tile. The recycling effort traded the cost of dumpster usage fees for additional labor to palletize and shrink wrap ceiling tile and the effort was cost neutral thereby supporting American University’s greening initiatives and our environment. In addition, the work was complete on a very aggressive schedule of six weeks from when the first design documents were given to TMG.
